Lama Palden Drolma has a deep interest in helping to make the teachings and practices of Vajrayana Buddhism accessible and practical for Westerners. In 2009 she initiated a project to bring ecological toilets and clean water to families living near Bodhgaya, India. This is a project that particularly benefits girls and women. In 2009 she co-founded Zen Heart Vajra Heart with Lew Richmond, a Zen teacher and personal disciple of Suzuki Roshi’s.She is also a co-founder in 2010 of the Feminine Wisdom School due to her dedication to help actualize the deep feminine wisdom for individuals and for humanity as a whole. They are currently running a year long pilot program entitled “Unfolding the Sacred Feminine.” Also a licensed therapist, she is engaged in facilitating psycho-spiritual integration and development. She was a founder of the Institute for Spirituality and Psychology.
Authorized as a lama in 1986 by her root teacher, Khabje Kalu Rinpoche, Lama Palden is the founding teacher of Sukhasiddhi Foundation in Marin County, a Tibetan Buddhist center in the Shangpa Kagyu lineage.
